Hey, I'm a student and I also don't understand the thermodynamics section -- I would also appreciate elaboration! (3/1/2024) ^^ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 18.29.57.71 (talk) 19:55, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone add to the thermodynamics bit please? --|| instantn00dle 20:15, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Hello, I'm updating this page as an assignment for a writing course. I've copy and pasted this page into my sandbox, and am working on it there. Here's the link https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Warbeard/sandbox I wouldn't mind getting an opinion, and some tips on how to move it to live space. I've added to the thermodynamics section, and rewrote both the introduction and Revelle effects section. Still very much a draft, and any help on how to make it Wikipedia appropriate would be awesome. Warbeard (talk) 15:46, 18 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all, moved what I have over to live space. Feel free to edit away. I rewrote the Revelle effect section, introduction, and added a section after thermodynamics.Warbeard (talk) 19:12, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The claim that Roger Revelle was "one of the first scientists to study global warming" is incorrect. It was also studied by Fourier, Tyndall, Arrhenius, Chamberlin, Callendar, Phillips, Ewing, Donn, and Plass, before Revelle. See this reference. I simply made the change, citing his predecessors. These would probably better go in a separate footnote, but I don't know how to do that and keep the links to their respective Wikipedia pages.
