"political corruption"

[edit]

If you want to change the section on political corruption, you MUST discuss changes here. I have justified every source.

Periodically, users with odd edit history try to remove negative content from articles about large, corporate entities. These users are sometimes IP editors. DenverCoder19 (talk) 17:25, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Criticisms and controversy

[edit]

when mentioning topics of criticism and controversy add it in the following sub section for that topic, maintain professionalism this is not you personal page to post whatever you may deem fit anywhere you like THANK YOU FOR COMPLYING N0riooo (talk) 15:05, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section, you will see that it says that the lead section is an introduction to an article and a summary of its most important contents. So deleting a summary of important contents from the lead was unhelpful.-- Toddy1 (talk) 15:21, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Concerns about neutrality in "Controversy" and "Plutocrat" sections

[edit]

Hi everyone,

I would like to raise concerns about the following statements in the Reliance Industries article:

1. The "controversy" section states:

"The company has attracted controversy for reports of political corruption, cronyism, fraud, financial manipulation, and exploitation of its customers, Indian citizens, and natural resources."

While the allegations might be valid, the language appears accusatory and not neutral, which might conflict with Wikipedia's neutrality policy. Could we rephrase this to reflect allegations or concerns as reported by sources, rather than presenting them as definitive?

2. The description of Mukesh Ambani as a "plutocrat" in the same section seems subjective. The term carries connotations that may not be neutral. If the source ([15]) is reliable, we might consider rephrasing it to describe his wealth and influence in a more neutral manner, such as "wielding significant economic and political influence."

I propose the following changes for discussion:

Rephrase the "controversy" section to use neutral language, like "allegations of political corruption, cronyism, and financial irregularities."

Replace "plutocrat" with a more neutral description, or remove it altogether if it doesn't significantly add to the article.

I look forward to hearing other editors' thoughts on how we can improve the neutrality of these parts of the article.

Thank you! JESUS (talk) 10:00, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
