Cheers

[edit]

Thanks to whoever reverted my edits after I'd spent 45 minutes clarifying this page. Nothing like keeping the status quo rather than allowing something to become better. Just to make it clear, I like this film, I'm learning Spanish at the moment and I can actually explain the plot. If you think you can do better, actually change what I've written (ironically, you reverted back to a less clear version that I MYSELF had written some days prior) rather than just pressing the reset button. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.113.71.161 (talk) 22:49, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT: Actually it was the version I had written just prior to submitting the new one...still need to learn to press preview before submitting....but it's not quite the point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.113.71.161 (talk) 22:51, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

At IBDM here they are claiming copyright for the same content, it has clearly gone one way or the other but I can't see which? Off2riorob (talk) 11:12, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Barcelona?

[edit]

"REC follows a television reporter, Ángela Vidal, and her cameraman, Pablo, who cover the night shift in one of Barcelona's local fire stations for the fictional documentary television series While You're Asleep." - Actually, it is never explicitly stated that the movie respectively the fictional documentary within the movie are set in Barcelona. The only indicator for Barcelona is the writing on the backs of the firemen's jackets, but these are also never shown in a direct shot, one has to use the slow-motion or pause button to get to read them. --188.105.194.172 (talk) 11:18, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't they speak Catalan if it was set in Barcelona? Or is it a Spanish documentary set in Barcelona? 217.93.219.218 (talk) 22:36, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RE !!!

[edit]

How could one write an article about REC without mentioning Resident Evil ??? Before RECcording, REC meant Resident-Evil part C, because by 2006 when it was shot, only RE and RE-Apocalypse were out; REC was thus to be the 3rd ... and the third letter of the alphabet is C. Amongst fans, every one knows that: REC is, before all, inspired from RE universe. Now, good writers gotta add this peace of info in proper english in the main art Doublehp (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:23, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Doublehp: Late, but whatever: All of what you said is original research. Are you saying the third Resident Evil film was intended to be called Resident Evil C or was that just a fan name or whatever? (If it's a fan name, it holds even less weight.) Also, I doubt Resident Evil really served as a primary inspiration for this film: While no doubt having some degree of influence, there are literally thousands of zombie movies, books and other things out there, each with their own take on what a zombie virus is, does or where it came from. REC could have been inspired by any of them. Actually, although I haven't seen it I could make just as compelling an argument that Evil Dead inspired REC, yet we aren't including it in the article unless one of the people who conceived of the film says so. Series page

[edit]

I think it's high time we gave REC a series page. LazyBastardGuy 20:08, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

– "REC" isn't an acronym, so it should be "Rec" per WP:ALLCAPS and MOS:TM. See recent move at Talk:Rec (film series)#Requested move 27 November 2019. 212.135.65.247 (talk) 11:50, 6 December 2019 (UTC)Relisting. Dekimasuよ! 15:11, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support: Aside from the all-caps guideline argument, this would be consistent with the recent RM result for Rec (film series), which is noted above. Also, this RM has been open for two weeks with no objection. It is overdue for closure. I see no reason to continue to keep it open. Also, I checked several of the cited sources and found that many of them do not use all-caps (BBC, Rotten Tomatoes, Time Out, NYT). —BarrelProof (talk) 17:25, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
