Merge

[edit]

I do not think it's a good idea to merge the two articles. This is a stub for now, and each QIZ can be expanded to include locations, images, notable companies within each QIZ. Thanks! Zithan (talk) 12:43, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The reason I proposed the merge was that it's generally preferred to add information into existing articles first, and split it off later once it becomes too big for the parent article. There again, the article on Qualifying Industrial Zones applies to both Egypt and Jordan, so that could be messy.
Tell you what, I've got another suggestion. It might make more sense to rename this article to something like "Qualifying Industrial Zones in Jordan", add an opening paragraph saying what the QIZs are, and then adding the list below. What do you think?

I think that's a good idea. I'm also thinking that we can format the data as a table and add the geo-coordinates to each QIZ. But I would have to do some searching around for the coordinates, so it may take some time before I get the data. I've seen some featured lists using those coordinate templates. For the moment, I am looking to get the QIZ to GA status, so my efforts on this article may have to take a back seat. Regards, Zithan (talk) 13:08, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

@Dicklyon, Shhhnotsoloud, Hessamnia, ErikTheBikeMan, Michael Bednarek, and Dewritech: This article could be a subsection of Qualifying industrial zone. As a matter of fact, it's wikilinked excessively in the part of that article that lists the zones. Festucalextalk 08:12, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
