Merge[edit]

First off, I should declare an interest in this as I've written/rewritten a couple of relevant pages. There are three related areas of EU legislation: Protected designation of origin (PDO), protected geographical indication (PGI) and Traditional Speciality Guaranteed (TSG) - the last one redirects to PDO, which, despite its being more info-rich, I suggest we do with PGI as it's probably best understood as related to (arguably) more important of the three designations. Wine is a huge part of this btw and there is another article, Quality Wines PSR which goes into more detail after which there are pages for the various European appellation-type designations. I suggest it takes the form of PDO (including PGI and TSG), then if any one part of this (like QWPSR and national appellation pages) is big enough, it can have its own page - mikaultalk 15:16, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I sometimes edit articles on foods and wines that come under this umbrella. I think the best approach is probably to merge them all and then, when the article is good enough, let it shatter into its components. —Ian Spackman 16:21, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Support merge. I would suggest this article as the target, since this term is the most comprehensive. All other names would redirect to this article (possibly to sections). The PGI disambiguation page needs modifying, too. --Boson 12:31, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Weak keep. These are three distinct labels; albeit in the same area. I would prefer different articles with one top article directing to the three. However, the articles need to be extended for this structure. Arnoutf 11:54, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
