Is there a reason for 2 external link links section? I think they are fine under 1 section. 1.02 editor (talk) 09:38, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary section

[edit]

Promenade station presents an unusual case of a station acting as an interchange between multiple branches of the same MRT line, due to the two possible routes for Circle Line trains at the station. Passengers heading to Dhoby Ghaut or Marina Bay should head to Circle Line's Platform B, and announcements will be made to notify commuters when the train going towards Marina Bay arrives. (Tanah Merah station on the East West Line is similar, but trains coming from the main line do not go to Changi Airport, thus always requiring a change of trains, whereas this may not be necessary at Promenade.)

Passengers heading to Bayfront can use either the Circle or Downtown Lines, as Bayfront is an adjacent stop on both lines. This phenomenon of two adjacent MRT interchange stations between the same lines is only found once elsewhere on the MRT, at City Hall and Raffles Place. However, changing between the Circle and Downtown Lines is more convenient at Bayfront, which provides cross-platform interchange that Promenade was meant to have but was aborted due to complexities in the station structure. (The circle line branches into two, and to build the tracks without crossing the circle line tracks would be impossible). The empty space where the tracks were meant to be can be seen from trains to and from Esplanade.--ZKang123 (talk) 03:41, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
