Is it possible to update this article? Thanks in advance. --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 00:52, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I added the only poll I found using a quick search; if you know about others, I'll appreciate a link Susy 11 (talk) 18:26, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Done: I've updated the article with the latest data as of May 2022. Quol (talk) 21:20, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Colours

[edit]

It is unfortunate that the colours of the two sides are so similar. I am colour blind and I cannot tell which line in the graph is which side. Would it be possible for someone to change the colours - e.g. to red and blue or yellow? Dudley Miles (talk) 16:32, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

At least 7% of the male population agrees with this sentiment. Also, in the table, is it possible to reduce the saturation of the colours where the margin is less than one or two standard errors? (at 2000 polled, that's 2.2% or 4.5%, at 1000 polled, that's 3.2% or 6.3% (basically 100%/sqrt(n)). Some of the margins are a lot less significant than others, it would be nice to visually represent that. FatPhil (talk) 09:18, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Done now. Dudley Miles (talk) 17:57, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorting table by date doesnt work?

[edit]

Sorting table by date doesnt work? 220.240.173.222 (talk) 07:32, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't work and would not be needed if the most recent poll was shown first, which is usual and correct in lists of polls. Llewee I see that you created the article with the most recent first, so presumably you know how to change it back. Can you help please. Also it would be helpful if the colours of join and not join were more different. I am colourblind and cannot tell them apart in the graph. Thanks if you can help. Dudley Miles (talk) 07:50, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

François Robere Why did you change the order of polls? It seems to be unhelpful for readability.--Llewee (talk) 08:52, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Generally one expects a sequence of events to be sorted chronologically (cf. all of our "Timeline of..." articles). The previous version of the table was ordered in reverse chronological order, making both reading and updating counter-intuitive. François Robere (talk) 09:27, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That applies to timelines, but in other cases, such as lists of elections and opinion polls, the most recent is the most interesting to the reader, and reverse chronological order is correct and always - so far as I have seen - used. Dudley Miles (talk) 10:42, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'd appreciate some examples, as I'm not seeing a clear rule for either. François Robere (talk) 13:39, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Opinion polling for the next United Kingdom general election, Opinion polling for the 2022 Brazilian presidential election, Opinion polling on Scottish independence, Opinion polling for the 2017 Austrian legislative election, Finchley and Golders Green (UK Parliament constituency), Chipping Barnet (UK Parliament constituency). Dudley Miles (talk) 13:51, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm convinced.[1] François Robere (talk) 14:55, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Euro preference polls

[edit]

Hi FP10, the polls you added on whether the responder was happy to join the euro add up to a much larger share of the vote in favour of rejoining than the usually worded polls. Are they just asking individuals who said they wanted to rejoin in the original question? Llewee (talk) 16:36, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I missed that I'll tweak the wording to make it a bit more clear.--Llewee (talk) 16:40, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Page name change

[edit]

The current page name is grammatically incorrect and poorly constructed. I propose to be renamed to Potential Re-Accession of the United Kingdom to the European Union. ZElsb (talk) 10:49, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
