Port Huron's dying tourism industry
[edit]WE NEED support in transformation of Port Huron's dying tourism industry, particularly by providing opportunities to new business participation; and to facilitate implementation a of tourism development / investment programs.
How about a tourism program development / investment division-group-department...??? To undertake focused research promoting tourism development and transformation. One which supports niche export markets; implements projects to improve sector competitiveness, and be the first point of contact for tourism businesses to access the local opportunities and offerings.
Tourism drives local economy...bottom line!

No ENTERTAINMENT topic! ..........and very boring reading............!!
Then this:

Compare the History and Entertainment sections of each site!
Especially this> "Each year, over 100,000 people enjoy the annual Sunday Big Parade, usually featuring over 100 entries including marching bands, decorated floats, dance clubs, visiting dignitaries, entertainers, royalty, and that year's newly crowned Bavarian Princess and her Court."
The Bavarian Festival has been voted one of the "Top 5 Festivals in the State of Michigan" by AAA's Michigan Living Magazine.
To me this says SOMEONE needs to revamp the "attraction venues" in this city. We are the FRESH WATER CAPITOL of the world! Doesn't the city have an advertising & public relations group that can do a 180????? C-O-M-M-U-N-I-T-Y------E-F-F-O-R-T!!!!!!!!!
1. Boosting procurement from local businesses 2. Stimulating local cultural and heritage products 3. Building local partnerships 4. Setting corporate priorities and managing internal change.
Look beyond what is currently provided to tourists, delve deeper into local culture Develop very different products for cultural specialists and for the mainstream with an more interest. Tackle both supply and demand. Help local products to reach quality standards and, at the same time, address how they are marketed and reached by guests Establish new partnerships with local experts. Combine their cultural expertise with others business skills in ways that benefit both sides. Pay particular attention to logistics and standards. While these are needed for any product or idea, the informal, often rural, nature of many cultural and heritage product providers may pose extra challenges Assess options in terms of how they can support thriving local enterprise by encouraging spin-offs and linkages. Shopping
[edit]The section on shopping is a joke. Nothing is mentioned about shops in the city. The only thing that is mentioned is the mall which is in fort gratiot. The section must either change or go..... Zygnoda (talk) 19:44, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Internal Link on Carnegie is wrong
[edit]I put in the museums, but the internal link to Carnegie goes to something outside Port Huron, in New York. This needs to be fixed. HELP Please. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 13:49, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Stan I've fixed this by creating an article. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 14:11, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Stan
Flint/Tri-Cities
[edit]It says that the the city is in the thumb (which is part of tri-cities). Looking at the link for the tri-cites shows that the county is part of the southeast michigan region. I think the mention of the tri cities region is not necessary. It just makes things more complicated.. if we get into that it seems like their is need for further explanation. The county + city connects to both the thumb and southeast michigan. Zygnoda (talk) 07:13, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Removal of Blue Water Bridge picture
[edit]There was no [visible] sculpture in it, based upon my view of the prior versions. The rationale for the removal concerning a sculpture is nonsensical, based on the photograph. If the claim is that the Blue Water Bridge is copyrighted, that is contrary to American and Canadian law. One can hardly depict Port Huron, Michigan without such a picture. If we are talking about a different picture that was deleted from Wiki Commons, I would appreciate a clarification as to what was being depicted. Meanwhile, we do need a picture of the Blue Water Bridge for this article.
I had a really nice picture of the bridge, the the Thomas Edison statue in the Foreground and the guy deleted it. There have been plenty of pictures of it, and it violated no copyright laws. PaulG5372 (talk) 10:29, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Strange But True...
[edit]There's an ambulance law that only allows ambulances in the city to go 20 mph, regardless of whether or not they have a passenger. This should be noted.98.209.67.70 (talk) 06:06, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Why? What makes it notable? Do you have a source? Rees11 (talk) 12:03, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Where is the weather??
[edit]Out of all the City/State articles on Wikipedia, this one is the worst. It lacks a lot of valuable information and contains information that many will not care about. For instance, there is no breakdown or charts of the weather. Where is information on weather?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.112.88.179 (talk) 13:43, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Old money
[edit]Having grown up in PH and then lived in the burbs of Chicago for 32 years, nothing has changed in this town. Old money continues to milk this town of growth. The local government is corrupt with the city manager Freed containing this legacy of corruption. Previous regimes led by Bouchard, destroyed this city of any future opportunity to be a shining star at the base of Lake Huron. Disgusting. RIP PH! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:40D:8300:9BD0:9DB2:3349:C4A1:32DA (talk) 12:02, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
The people
[edit]One of the worst Towns around in Michigan, as I was exploring the whole state this is one of the more notable ones not for its attractions, or car shows. Overall everyone I’ve encountered in this town is rude and very Ill mannered. It honestly reminds me of Ohio. 107.19.25.107 (talk) 17:27, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
