Innovation
Innovation is one of the Group’s main engines. Polisport is willing to go beyond its current products portfolio and develop all plastic parts and solutions that bikes and motorcycles need.
In 2010, the company was awarded the PME Innovation Prize, attributed in partnership between COTEC (link Cotec) and Banco BPI (link BPI). The main reason for this award was the leadership role adopted by Polisport in the "two wheels" market, through the production of plastic parts using the patented IPD technology.
IPD (Inmold Plastic Decals) is the name given to the exclusive technology that Polisport brought to plastic motorcycle parts. Successfully tested in extreme racing conditions, this is a decoration process that fuses graphics into the plastic parts as a strong alternative to decals. As a result, the graphics will not fade, peel, crack, or come loose from the plastic. This technology is an added value for motorcycle manufacturers as it allows various possibilities for customization. This technology opened the way to the supply of numerous parts to major European motorcycle manufacturers such as BMW, KTM, Husqvarna, Gas Gas and Sherco, among others.
The Group already counts with 45 patented products, 64 design registered and 66 brand registered.
Innovation is in the Polisport’s DNA, which is always updated with the latest industry news, capitalizes its expertise as an OEM supplier in the two-wheels business and is looking to bring that know-how and innovative solutions to the market.
Sustainability
In this scope, Polisport plays a huge role in making lifestyles increasingly more sustainable through environmental, economic and social factors.
With a focus on the environment, Polisport reduced the water consumption by 3% and achieved an 18% reduction in waste, 5% in electricity and 27% in CO2 emissions.
On a social level, the company increased the number of employees hired and have been working to improve the benefits provided. Regarding social goals, Polisport focused on its employees, as they are the essence of the main engine, driving each process.
Regarding the support to the community surrounding, the Group will keep running charity auctions, supporting charities and promoting essential social practices such as donating blood. Moreover, Polisport will continue working on environmental policies, reinforcing internal training relating to sustainable practices and, consequently, employees' awareness.
In the future Polisport intend to focus on and develop actions in areas such as renewable and affordable energy, as well as in sustainable production and consumption practices, aiming to ensure the society lives sustainably.

That's written like an advertisement. We're not going to overwrite the existing article with a promotional piece. - MrOllie (talk) 18:08, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you say that? It's only the facts about Polisport's company. Let me know what kind of content do you associated with promotional content? Polisport mkt (talk) 10:14, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The whole thing, from top to bottom, is written in promotional tone. I cannot give specific examples that you could fix to make this acceptable - the whole thing needs to be rewritten by someone who isn't immersed in writing for corporate-style PR. MrOllie (talk) 12:20, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bees play a crucial role in agriculture everywhere and represent an irreplaceable link in food, helping the production of more than 30 percent of the world’s food.
According to Pedro Araújo, "It is possible for us all to play an active role when it comes to bee protection. Plant flowers and plants in your garden, or even on your balcony, creating conditions for bees to thrive. Choose locally produced food whenever possible and preferably organic. Prefer the use of natural pesticides rather than aggressive chemicals or, like us, support an association that promotes the protection of the world's most valuable species."

Reposting the same advertising isn't going to change anyone's mind. If you have specific factual changes to suggest, you should make them in a 'change X to Y' format. For example if the article has the founding year wrong, you might say "please change 'established in 1978' to 'established in 1977'. But we are simply not going to replace the whole article with your promotional version. - MrOllie (talk) 13:52, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Dear MrOllie
As requested, we have made a comparative Excel between the content we currently have on Wikipedia, the first proposal we made, and the second one, which has also just been rejected. In this file, we have highlighted (in red) the change of verbs, adverbs, and expressions that, in the first proposal, we thought might be less factual. Likewise, we have removed all the information regarding the products we sell and added two news items that prove Polisport's focus on sustainability and social responsibility, not just mentioning numbers and milestones.
We would like to reinforce that the aim of this article update is to provide the most reliable, up-to-date, and enlightening information possible for all those to whom Polisport may be of interest, whether they are potential collaborators, suppliers or customers. With the means we currently have access to, social media serve our business purpose, and it is on these platforms that we establish our promotional strategy. As such, Wikipedia is purely informational in the sense that this content can be used, copied, modified, and distributed by anyone, for any purpose. And it was with this motivation that we developed this new article, which we believe to be strictly factual.
We have gone through the Wikipedia policies and guidelines page, and we fairly don’t understand which of the requirements we are not complying with. Reviewing our proposal, we believe that we fulfill all the topics below:
  • “Be clear. Avoid esoteric or quasi-legal terms or dumbed-down language. Be plain, direct, unambiguous, and specific. Avoid platitudes and generalities. Even in guidelines, help pages, and other non-policy pages, do not be afraid to tell editors directly they must or should do something.
  • Be as concise as possible—but no more concise. Verbosity is not a reliable defense against misinterpretation. Omit needless words. Direct, concise writing may be clearer than rambling examples. Footnotes and links to other pages may be used for further clarification.
  • Emphasize the spirit of the rule. Expect editors to use common sense. If the spirit of the rule is clear, say no more.
  • Maintain scope and avoid redundancy. Clearly identify the purpose and scope early in the page, as many readers will just look at the beginning. Content should be within the scope of its policy. When the scope of one advice page overlaps with the scope of another, minimize redundancy. When one policy refers to another policy, it should do so briefly, clearly and explicitly.
  • Avoid overlinking. Policies and guidelines may contain links to any type of page, including essays and articles. However, such links should only appear when clarification or context is needed. Links to other advice pages may inadvertently or intentionally defer authority to them. Make it clear when such links defer, and when they do not.
  • Not contradict each other.”
Finally, to understand how we could improve our article, we did some research on some companies and concluded that they have very identical content to the one we propose. Here are some extracts from the SONAE and Super Bock pages, respectively:
Finally, as this is a very important page to our company that is not updated since 2018, we would like to ask for more concrete and specific guidelines to deliver an article that meets Wikipedia standards.
Looking forward to hearing your feedback. Polisport mkt (talk) 14:17, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted your latest mass dump of text on this page. We are not going to replace the whole article with your version. If you have specific, factual changes to propose, feel free to list them one at a time in a 'change <X> to <Y> format'. - MrOllie (talk) 15:10, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
ACTUAL HISTORY
Polisport, headquartered in Portugal, was established in 1978 by Pedro Araújo.
The Polisport Group is made up of five international companies namely; Polisport Plásticos S.A., Polinter Plásticos S.A., Polisport Molds LDA, Headgy Helmets, and Polistar LTDA.
In late 2013, Polisport Group acquired the brand Bobike – Bicycle Safety Seats, a Dutch company and former competitor.
OUR SUGGESTION
The origin of Polisport Group dates to 1978 when Pedro Araújo and his brother founded a small company that produced homemade front fenders and handguards in fiberglass. The ambition to expand to a bigger company arose few years later due to the sales increase.
• 1982: Pedro and Paulo Araújo Plásticos Lda. was established as a company, with the production of plastic fenders for motorcycles.
• 1984: The company attended the first international event, IFMA Fair, in Cologne, Germany. In the same period, the company, already named Polisport, started exporting to Spain.
• 1988: Polisport started producing baby carriers and acquired 50% of the capital of Oliveira e Silva Lda, an injection company that originated Polinter.
• 1989: Internal mold production began.
• 1990: The first bicycle mudguards were launched.
• 1991: The bidon line for bicycles was released.
• 1993: Polisport Plásticos emerged with facilities in Oliveira de Azeméis.
• 1996: The first line of bicycle helmets was launched.
• 1998: Polisport achieved the Certification of Quality System based on the norm NP EN ISO 9001.
• 1999: Polisport moved into a Joint-stock company.
• 2000: Durable Gloss Polypropylene (DGP) technology was developed and launched.
• 2002: Baby car seats started being manufactured.
• 2004: Polisport Group holds 100% of Polinter's capital.
• 2005: A new industrial unit was built in Arouca and the Inmold Plastic Decals (IPD) technology was launched.
• 2006: Polisport’s structure expanded, with the creation of Marketing, Logistics & Research, and Technological Development departments.
• 2008: Polisport won the American IMDA Award (Inmold Decoration Association Award) for the best injection part with IPD technology.
• 2009: Polisport won two IMDA awards in the categories ""Best Injected Part"" and ""Best Durable Part"". It also achieved an honorable mention in the award of the SME Innovation Network COTEC-BPI.
• 2010: COTEC-BPI distinguished Polisport with PME Innovation Award. The company also received the PME Excellence award.
• 2011: Polisport received the Certification of its Innovation Management System according to NP 4457: 2007.
• 2012: Honorable Mention in Entrepreneurship Awards INSEAD was attributed to Polisport. In the same year, the company won two iF Design Awards in the categories ‘Innovative Design’ with Guppy baby carrier and ‘Innovative Material’ with the Corky bottle. Polisport Molds is now the Polisport Group's third company, joining Polisport Plastics and Polinter.
• 2013: Headgy Helmets, a spin-off in association with Strategic Sports, was founded. In the same year, Polisport acquired 100% of the capital of Bobike, becoming the World leader in the baby carrier market.
• 2014: Polistar, a subsidiary of Polisport in Brazil, was established.
• 2015: Guppy Junior won an IF Design Award in the category of Design awarded for its functionality and aesthetics. One year later, the German Design Award in the best design category was attributed to the same product.
• 2017: Polisport has been awarded the ""Red Dot Award"" for Product Design, for its Foldable Lift Bike Stand. The product was launched in 2016 and included by the jurors in the 'Best of the Best' category.
• 2018: Polisport achieved the ""Gut"" rating to Guppy Maxi, FF and Bilby FF. This award distinguishes the safety and quality of the products and it is one of the most important recognitions in the Nordic market.
• 2021: COTEC distinguished Polisport for the development of innovative solutions.
• 2022: MINIA, the first cycling mobility brand focused on the online channel, was launched. In the same period, the company was certified with ISO 14001 and received the European Quality Trademark (ETQM) for its Polisport and Bobike child seats. 62.28.133.130 (talk) 16:07, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Add Polisport's logo to it's Wikipedia Page

[edit]

Hello @MrOllie. Before submitting the change template, I would like to reach a consensus with you on the introduction of the logo on the Polisport website. Do we agree that adding the logo is not advertising but a complement to the information shared? I leave the link so you can see the logo here -> [10]. Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 16:56, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding a logo should be no problem. You could make that process easier by uploading a higher res version without the trademark registration symbol on it - Wikipedia doesn't display trademark symbols, and the version you link to there would look aliased on many screens when displayed on Wikipedia. You can find upload instructions at Wikipedia:Uploading images. Once you've got that uploaded let me know here and I can get it into the infobox for you. MrOllie (talk) 17:09, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @MrOllie. I just uploaded the logo using the Upload Wizard. Here's the link that the software gave to me as the one to be used on the page:
Polisport Group Logotype
. Also, here's the HTML: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Polisport_Group.png. Which are the next steps? Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 09:03, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I added it to the article's infobox. MrOllie (talk) 13:25, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Add Polisport's facilities photo to the Wikipedia page

[edit]

Hello @MrOllie. Please, let me know your thoughts on adding a photo of Polisport's headquarters to it's Wikipedia page, in order to add context and more information. Photo here. Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 11:58, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decorative images such as that one should be avoided. MrOllie (talk) 13:40, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
