“ | As for the Piracha , they too, are Khatri, who converted to Islam very early.[1] | ” |
The Gazetteer of the Rawalpindi District 1893 and 94 however records that
“ | they are converted Hindus and seem to be much the same as Khojas " •[2] | ” |
“ | But in the north west Punjab and the northern districts of the North west Frontier Province , the term Paracha is preferred by Hindu traders converted to Islam , so that where the Parachas are recognised and wealthy caste , Khoja is used for miscellanaeous Muhammadan traders ,chiefly hawkers and Pedlers , or at least petty traders , while in the eastern districts in the Derajat, where the Khojas are commercially important , paracha is used for [3] | ” |
The Gazetteer of the Shahpur District 1897 records that-
“ | The Musalmans generally use the Arabic Character. The Musalman Khoja and Piracha traders however mostly keep their accounts in Hindi .•[4] | ” |

Problems
[edit]Dear all, hi. There seem to be two main problems with this article- (a) it doesnt give adequate refs/citations and those that are there are not formated properly and (b) the sections/main text needs to be broken up into managable sections. I would request that the creator, or someone interested in this topic, might pl take a detailed look at it and fix. Am doing a little bit to help things along. Thanks, Khani100 (talk) 12:09, 16 April 2012 (UTC)Khani100
- Helo, I have today removed many non-notable names from list of supposedly 'notable people'. Please, ONLY add those names of people who are demonstrably notable and already have an existing Wikipedia article. Thanks you. 39.54.180.86 (talk) 21:29, 18 October 2014 (UTC)Prof retd Hilda Khan, Pakistan
Article uses Hindu and Hindi interchangeably
[edit]The article, despite its sources makes little sense. How can something like an ancient caste be of "hindi" origin when the language is less than a few centuries old. I am guessing its to do with using the word Hindi and Hindu interchangeably. --2A02:8084:901:4D00:2997:7B61:A080:F5C8 (talk) 09:33, 7 May 2019 (UTC)
