Good Start
[edit]This article seems to have atleast a halfway good start. I have requested sources and a tone suitable to wikipedia and will try in the future to make the improvements myself. Thank you. AlexanderLevian 17:17, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Notability issues
[edit]I would suggest that adding publication info (publishers, years, location, ISBNs) to the listed publications would help assess notability. I would also caution some of the editors on this and related articles that their labeling of one another's edits as vandalism is inappropriate. Content disputes are not vandalism. --Kathryn NicDhàna ♫♦♫ 22:09, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- They are when you get banned for them and return under a slightly different IP. Perhaps some would be more quick to assume good faith if others would actually register an account. --Tsuzuki26 22:21, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Hangon
[edit]Article was recently AfDed and speedily kept. It's certainly not appropriate to speedily delete it. —Hanuman Das 06:21, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
A word from the subject
[edit]Hello there
I'll admit to having mixed feelings about being the subject of a wikipedia entry. My first impulse, on encountering this entry, was to request it be deleted. I am generally "shy" about providing biographical information - and I have to say that I found myself agreeing with the contention that I am not particularly "notable" - at least I don't tend to think of myself in those terms. Interestingly enough, the things I have done, which I do take some small measure of pride in are not mentioned - presumably because they cannot be sourced via the internet.
I have no major contentions with the content of this page, apart from some minor corrections:
- I do not consider myself an artist - all the work in the art section of my website is by my partner,
- I am no longer a member of the Illuminates of Thanateros
- I have never been a member of the "Ordo Draconis"

minor edits
[edit]I just made some small edits:
- re: editorship of Chaos International
Minor issue - I only edited issue 5 of Chaos International - there were four other editors before my involvement. I haven't contributed to the magazine since issue 23.
- Contribution to journals
I have amended the line regarding my contribution to journals as my most active period was circa 1986-1996 and since then, it's been at best, sporadic.

sources/style
[edit]I have made the tone a bit more encyclopedic, it would also be great to see more sources provided for the quotes etc. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Merkinsmum (talk • contribs) 08:22, 12 February 2007 (UTC).
- I've noticed that this page is tagged as "not citing it's references or sources," The sources are being gathered and displayed as they come. I am removing this tag and hoping that information needing citation can be given a "[citation needed]", so that this unnecessary and ugly tag may be dropped. AlexanderLevian 17:07, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
It does have the [citation needed] things which i put in. That means it needs the tag really. It's not a slur on the article, it's so new editors viewing it or previous editors are reminded and encouraged to work on getting sources. But then again, there are a few in here I suppose.:)Merkinsmum 23:54, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Tag removal
[edit]Removed tags out of date by now (notability), since by now, 2016, Phil Hine is notable as poss. Manytexts (talk) 10:35, 25 June 2016 (UTC)

No copyvio
[edit]The lead currently in use on this page dates from 6 April 2004, evolving organically in May 2004. It was expanded and the word "British" was added in 2011 by me. Then reduced to its current form by removing the 2nd phrase.
In contrast, the first book by Hine to be published by MIT won't come out until November 2022. MIT did not have an author bio until they committed to publishing the book earlier this year. The bio has not even been archived by Internet Archiver yet. If you want to prove a copyvio, you'll have to show that the page existed prior to the April 2004. Good luck. - I believe you are correct on review, thank you for helping clarify this. 99.33.184.99 (talk) 18:32, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
