Fair use rationale for Image:DuckTales-AllDucksOnDeck.png
[edit]Image:DuckTales-AllDucksOnDeck.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Shadow Blot
[edit]Why was it renamed for Epic Mickey?206.123.191.246 (talk) 02:40, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
Arabic equivalent?
[edit]I am moving here a paragraph about a supposed Arabic equivalent of the Phantom Blot, as neither Inducks nor any other source I checked showed any proof of this character, or the Majalat Mickey magazine, being real:
- In the Majalat Mickey (Mickey Magazine), published by Al-Futtaim in Dubai for sale in GCC countries from 1994 until its cancellation in 2000, the arabic equivalent of Phantom Blot, Al-Shabah Al-Aswad (the black ghost), was frequently featured as Mickey's enemey. Very often he would use his signature ultimate weapon "The Universal Melter," which is a black liquide that can melt everything except diamonds. This is not to be confused with Aripin Lusène.

The first supervillain in comics?
[edit]I added "He is the first known supervillain to appear in comics.", but it was removed. If the Phantom Blot wasn't the first, who had been created before him? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.11.144.111 (talk • contribs) 22:47, 15 July 2019 (UTC)
- It's mostly a question of source – if you have a valid source then the statement could be included in the article. But as a the answer to the question, from the top of my head, there is Ming the Merciless in Flash Gordon, the Cobra in Mandrake the Magician, and Dr. Vulter in Mickey Mouse, to mention a few. Of course, its a matter of definitions if the Blot, Ming, the Cobra, or Dr. Vulture even should be considered a supervillain – which once again leave us with the necessity of valid sources when making a definite claim such as anything being the first of anything. --Pyy (talk) 00:06, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
Redirect unacceptable
[edit]I've got no idea how a consensus could be reached that the Blot is not notable. Just to compare, Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow both have their own articles, when their role in the comics has been decidedly less important than that of the Blot. The Blot is one of the very few characters to have been used by virtually all different Disney publishers, and to have appeared with virtually all regular Disney characters. Furthermore, nobody who's ever read a story featuring the character would agree that he is not notable; heck, even Don Rosa initially wanted to use him as an antagonist before creating his own character, the Black Night, who obviously resembles the Phantom Blot quite a bit!
Ask anybody with a bit of comics knowledge about Mickey Mouse's main antagonists and you'll get two replies - Peg Leg Pete and The Phantom Blot. Maybe this is a European thing; we've had the character appear regularly for a long time, whereas he's not been used much in the US since the days of Murry. Either way, I hope this decision will be reverted and the article improved (no arguing here, it wasn't written particularly Wiki-like).Jules TH 16 (talk) 09:02, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
