Left-leaning or "far-left"

[edit]

Left-leaning doesn't necessarily mean center-left. But how far to the left Werbe is depends on your POV. So, instead, we'll just opt for his self-described position [1] of "left-leaning" rather than editorializing. Cool? Jackk 05:20, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That is not the web site of a sane "left-leaning" individual. That is the web site of a communist maniac. -- 212.112.242.89 05:29, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Really? I could say anyone who thinks Peter Werbe is a communist maniac must be a neoconservative fascist. It's all relative, or don't you get that?

That is true, you could say that, but if you've ever listened to Werbe you would know that it is a fact that no matter what any Republican does, Peter will find a way to make that person bad. If he can't make that person look bad, he won't talk about him/her. I am on the opposite side of Peters views, and I listen to his show because I enjoy hearing what the Liberal Left has to say. I used to like discussing these topics with his listeners on his Facebook page. I have learned that if you are in my shoes, and you comment on Peters topics online, he (or his people if he has any) will delete everything you posted and block you from adding to the discussion. Sorta goes against Peters principles, freedom of speech and expression. Mind you, everything that I ever posted, was always clean.... opinionated maybe, but clean. Mike 4/1/13

Article Content

[edit]

All information in my current revision is accurate and readily verifiable. If the content and political outlook of an openly political talk host isn't relevant, then I don't know what is. -- John Alder 10:54, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed several very long transcripts by User:John Alder due to copyright and BLP concerns. Given that the transcripts were provided to try and ascribe a certain POV to Peter Werbe, they were potentially unsourced (as it's OR) negative material Nil Einne 17:17, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Those excerpts, transcribed by me directly from recordings of his show available at http://whiterosesociety.org/Werbe.html, should fall under the Fair use provisions of copyright law. -- John Alder 03:30, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A note from Peter?

[edit]

I stumbled upon this biographical article, and found that evidently, the subject of the article has been editing it. This is a message purporting to be from Peter Werbe:

A note from Peter: A right-wing creep continues to vandalize this site and make it conform to his twisted vision of what constitutes my politics. In typical authoritarian fashion, he demands that the world be seen according to his views. What's disturbing about his changes is that they are so inaccurate, about me, my guests, my views, and even history. I challenge him to leave this paragraph intact so that viewers will realize the page has been altered, and ask that people go to my web site and listen to my show to get an accurate picture of who I am and what I believe. Thank you.

Now, I'm not that familiar with Wikipedia's policy on biographical articles, but I think the subjects of biographical articles are supposed to leave the writing to others. I have reverted the article to a more encyclopedic previous version, but have edited out the more controversial and inflammatory parts. -- A Wikipedia Watcher 217.11.58.179 14:59, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This guy is a joke. All my edits are truthful and backed up by direct and in-context quotes straight from the horse's mouth. I am particularly amused by his throwing around the term "authoritarian", not only because his ideology requires far worse than mere authoritarianism to realize its vision for the world, but also since he has in the past defended authority figures against the powerless. -- John Alder 03:34, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaned up

[edit]

OK I'm new at this, but I think I did a fair job of not only UN-shuffeling the content but going through the history and replacing content that seems to have gotten lost in the process of repairing numerous attempts at sabotage. I think I made an honest effort to balance being a lifetime fan and being objective. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JGVR (talkcontribs) 09:17, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disclosure

[edit]

I have rewritten this article from scratch. It was redirected in 2018. I want to disclose that I met Werbe a few times over 50 years ago, and have communicated with him through Facebook in recent years. Cullen328 (talk) 17:38, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
