Actually they are, see WP:TALKNEW. In addition to this simple guideline that is easy to follow, not doing do causes problems with archiving and linking to discussions (and simply causes the layout to look out of place, but who cares right?). Providing the same old media spin

Sorry, but how does Peston provide "a fresh, intelligent and lively perspective on the big matters of the day", when his show provides viewers with little more than the same old mainstream media format?
