Peruvians of Spanish descent

[edit]

It is true that when you say "white" in Peru, the first thing you think is a blond with blue eyes. Few northern whites kind in Peru. But we must bear in mind that the vast majority of Peruvians of European descent are descendants of Spaniards.

To get a better idea, I recommend you see on cable, Antena 3, TVE and Canal Vasco. It is true that the vast majority of Spaniards are like Alejandro Sanz and Lola Flores, Spanish but there are similar traits to the mestizos and / or Amerindian Peruvian, but they are only similar because they are North Africans, and Sephardic features. Spanish is an average 70% European, 20% Jewish, 10% Arab. Http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/spanish/science/newsid_7804000/7804668.stm

Well, besides the pure descendants of Spanish, there is also a pure or Creole (3 / 4 Spanish - 1 / 4 Amerindian). Or pure Creole is: 52.5% European, 25% Amerindian, 15% Jewish, 7.5% Arabic. Http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Castizo

Peruvians of Spanish descent (pure and typical): Carlos Alvarez, Jorge Benavides, Vladimiro Montesinos, Alan García, Lelo Costa, Beto Ortiz, Juan Francisco Escobar, Miguelito Barraza Andres Hurtado "Chibolín" Chemo del Solar, Claudio Pizarro, Paola Ruiz Ernesto Pimentel, Kike Suero, Oscar Gayoso, Ricky Tosso, Mariel Ocampo, Alberto Andrade, Juvenal Silva, Alberto Andrade, Luis Alva Castro, Luis Carranza, Hernando de Soto, Mario Vargas Llosa, Javier Silva Ruete, Luis Castaneda, Martha Chavez Alamo Perez Luna, Nicolás Lúcar, Gonzalo Nunez, Raul Vargas, Juan Reynoso, Roberto Martinez, Carlos Cacho, Kina Malpartida, Carlos Alcántara, Javier Carmona, Susy Diaz, etc.. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Spanish_Peruvian

Taking into account that according to the Census Bureau in July 2008, the Peruvian population is 29'180900 million, and that the Peruvian descent (pure and typical) of Spaniards are 9'400000 million, in conclusion, for every 100 Peruvians , 32 are Hispanic descent.

That is, the Spanish-Peruvians are 32% of the total population of Peru.

It is easy to check. Going out into the streets of any city in Peru. Especially in the northern jungle, mountainous north, central highlands, northern coast, coast of Ancash, north Chico, City of Lima, boy south coast of Ica.

Considering that: [1], this article would be deleted.--GiovBag (talk) 11:27, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is no reason why this article should be deleted. It should therefore remain.Rman22 (talk) 07:37, 4 June 2011 (UTC)rman22[reply]

This article is suffering from an identity crisis

[edit]

Considering that the bulk of the referencing is dependent on this article (Composición étnica y fenotipos en el Perú/Ethnic composition and phenotypes in Peru) which only notes "White people" as being identified as European by ancestry for obvious reasons, but discusses ethnic mixtures, etc., how did it come to be named "Peruvians of European descent" (per WP:TITLE)? There is nothing to account for the number of people who have European ancestry. Is the article about "White people" in Peru? It certainly doesn't have any sources to support the idea that it is about Peruvians of European descent: having descended from ethnic Europeans as well as other ethnicities is not the same thing as having white skin. Wikipedia is already rife with problematic articles conflating ethnicity, the non-existent concept of 'race' (we're all the same 'race'), and original research surrounding WP:POV agendas.

In the long term, as has been suggested before, this article should be either deleted or merged with White Latin Americans. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 22:51, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
