Authenticity of image

[edit]

I have doubts about the authenticity of the image said to depict Pertevniyal Sultan used as the primary illustration in this article. A Google reverse-search turns up nothing beside a Facebook post (unreliable souce) and the image's own entry in Commons. I have the niggling suspicion that it is AI-generated: notice the strange warping on some of the faces of the people portrayed.

I will leave the portrait in for now, hoping someone can conclusively prove it's authentic or otherwise. Yekshemesh (talk) 05:36, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The archive copy of the first link (marked as "attempted") is useful. The second archive copy isn't useful and has been reverted, with cbignore added. Dhtwiki (talk) 18:28, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
