Notability

[edit]

I am not convinced that the article content and the coverage in the independent sources referenced in the article are establishing Van Erp's notability according to Wikipedia:Notability (people). – Editør (talk) 20:58, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am concerned also about this. It seems that the article was written all by one person only. I think it may meet some very limited guidelines, but not all of them, especially the ones that relates to advertising. For a blogger it is big advertisement to have a page in Wikipedia English and one in Wikipedia in Dutch. In addition, the sources in English are mainly his own website and his blog, while the external references are in Dutch language only and I found that not very helpful. Is there any requirement on this regard? (Editorialeffort (talk) 17:48, 8 March 2017 (UTC)) Editorialeffort[reply]

Just to be more specific and fair: 7 references are from the same "Skeptic in the Pub" articles , 7 are in Dutch, one is a Facebook entry, one is a short biography in Dutch about Pepijn van Erp, it seems a blog, but i do not read Dutch, 2 references are from his website and the External links are his personal website and few entries in a blog by Pepijn van Erp himself writing about his entries in his personal website. Is there a reason this page is still on Wikipedia? It does not meet Wikipedia:Notability (people) and Wikipedia is giving free advertising to his blog. Editorialeffort (talk) 19:44, 5 August 2017 (UTC)(talk) it is clearly against Wikipedia rules of notability to have a page on a person such as Pepijn van Erp who has no credentials and no education, except the attempt to promote his blog, full of wrong information, insults, defamation. For the content of his blog he has been sued in Europe and in USA. Wikipedia is enabling personal issues to become prominent....and that is wrong and free advertisement — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joseph9871 (talkcontribs) 21:02, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Joseph9871: If you can show that he fails our criteria, start an WP:AfD. His lack of whatever is irrelevant to notability. Doug Weller talk 21:28, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
