Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on January 1, 2008.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ...that a PRR Class E6 steam locomotive powered train equipped with a mobile darkroom for developing newsreels en route, delivered footage from Washington to New York faster than a chartered plane?

Currently missing

[edit]

Some aspects I feel are currently missing from this article:

  • A better sense of historical perspective in some aspects
  • Comparison to similar locomotives elsewhere
  • More detailed information on design aspects
  • Photographs of the locomotives in service
  • Assessments and opinions by employees who worked on or with the class
  • More accurate information on service life, trains hauled, etc.
  • Last runs, last survivors
  • More information on preserved #460
