What is a "railfan special?"
[edit]A bit of Google work only reveals toy trains and whatnot except one other reference that wasn't explained. So what is the definition of "railfan special?" Is it a specific happening or simply a broad term for something a railfan would want to see? OOZ662 (talk) 03:33, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
- A "special" was often the term used for a charter train. A "railfan special" would presumably be carrying railfans, maybe with photo stops as well. There wasn't any details in any of the newspapers from the time, so I went with what the source I used said, which used the phrase "railfan special".
