Requested move

[edit]

Palace of Pena → Pena National Palace – {This should be the most correct translation from the original Portuguese name (Palácio Nacional da Pena). A Google search for "Pena Palace" provides more results than the odd-sounding "Palace of Pena".--Húsönd 13:38, 8 August 2006 (UTC)}[reply]

Hello!

[edit]

Many people did much good work on this article, so I don't know who to tell: a convent houses nuns and a monastery houses monks, so if you use monastery you don't have to mention monks again. Thank you, Shir-El too 14:31, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Sintra Portugal Palácio da Pena-01.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on April 7, 2016. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2016-04-07. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 00:11, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pena National Palace
The Pena National Palace is a Romanticist palace in Sintra, Portugal, built by Ferdinand II of Portugal on the site of a ruined monastery. The palace stands on the top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains, and on a clear day it can be easily seen from Lisbon and much of its metropolitan area. It is a national monument, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and considered one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. It is also used for state occasions by the President of the Portuguese Republic and other government officials.Photograph: Uwe Aranas
