1992 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

[edit]

Searching my Yardbirds Greatest Hits, Volume One (1964-1966) the bassist (which should have positive id) put himself in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, by acting as a producer for either himself, the bassist, or The Yardbirds, which version, and or producer? I can't trust this editor and I know that The Yardbirds story, either I or II or when Robert Plant took over in his Band of Joy, is not that confusing. I was pretty sure Jeff Beck was in Yardbirds I and maybe two, where Eric Clapton joined as a guitarist when The Yardbirds had Jimmy Page already since 1966? I don't want to blame the producer, which here, looks likes it's Jeff Beck, lying to be David Gillmor, who the drummers might be speculative because I am not totally familiar with the Byrds music either, and to have an honest band, you should probably have Keith Moon or Eric Burdon drumming? I heard Sammy Hagar drummed for this band for a short while. But, I think back in 1966 probably The Animals tried to turn in a dishonest producer, making The BBC probably a very unsafe place to go, for 2 were placed there. You should probably use your real name if you try and go there and want to be known as a notable producer? Which, I do think Jeff Beck was trying to get recognized, so why wouldn't he show a picture of himself then to his friends? I think i'm about to turn David Gilmor in as a dishonest producer of making his own album, in 1987 Momentary Lapse of Reason for one, omits Roger Waters. Two, didn't properly or entirely produce The Final Cut, 1983, both of which were Pink Floyd, but omitted Roger Waters. Where was the BBC then? Because for one, I think if it's David Gillmor, Lemmy from Motorhead showed up about the same time as you and Roger both, and wanted to talk to a participant, I will not let him talk to. Do you think he was cutting in with digital, perhaps unannounced for some album, because he seemed to have some problem? I do not know him and barely want to know Jeff Beck? Thank You for letting me work with you, it was a joy, all except for that. Also, I did not nominate Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin also for the same, being own producer? I do not think they deserve to be there, as far as I know, they had no manager for one, and did not have permission to record anything but The Song Remains the Same Movie, after they started it. And, i'm far sure as you did, having started it, want it's complete collect returned to Boleskine Mannor. So, Mr. Gillmor, if you needed to make any calls, I should have been there? But, in any figment ' I DO NOT REPRESENT LED ZEPPELIN .' If I am not able, Page should contact you, because something has gone wrong! Yes, those were my last wishes. Did I let Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd go on concert? Which seems to be a big part of the problem here in keeping record of myself or Jimmy Page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.183.177.40 (talk) 20:24, 9 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Last name

[edit]

So when and how did Paul Smith turn into Samwell-Smith? Jah77 (talk) 14:01, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I assume this is the entry of his birth, from the second quarter of 1943, which tells us that his mother's maiden name was Samwell : "Smith Paul G mother's maiden name Samwell registration district Brentford". It is not that uncommon for people whose father's surname was Smith to add their mother's maiden name to distinguish them from other Smiths. I wonder what the "G" stands for ? Added citations

[edit]

Greetings Wikipedians! Today I endeavored to improve this article by adding citations to an article in The Washington Post and Guitar World. It's easy to find this sort of citation. Google the subject and use the "News" filter that Google offers. Cordially, BuzzWeiser196 (talk) 13:15, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Birth record

[edit]

A decent secondary source is really needed over direct citation of the FreeBMD birth record entry, but at any rate, juxtaposing "Paul Granville Samwell-Smith" with "born Paul Smith" is inaccurate, as the record gives "Paul G. Smith". It ought to at least give "born Paul G. Smith" even if one is disinclined to simply assume that the "G." wasn't Granville from the start, and was something less interesting like "George". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.207.33 (talk) 05:07, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
