Need to fix an error on the page. Didn't warn of British (He was British), he warned of the "Regulars". EpicCowGuy1 (talk) 23:52, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

Bernard Cornwell, The Fort, HarperCollins, 2010. An historical novel depicting the Penobscot Expedition, with considerable emphasis on Paul Revere's questionable conduct during this military campaign. In a non-fiction 'Historical Note' (pp. 451–468), Cornwell examines how Revere's 'undeserved' reputation is largely based on myth, owing almost exclusively to Longfellow's romantic yet inaccurate poem.John renard (talk) 21:36, 15 November 2015 (UTC) John Renard
Paul Revere's ancestry
David Hackett Fischer refers to Paul Revere as being "half French and half English", while on this page only his French ancestry is referenced.[1] I think that if one is relevant the other is, particularly for all of the reasons outline in Fischer's work on Revere and the culture he came from, greatly changed, and was himself a reflection of.174.70.83.194 (talk) 21:43, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
- From the page: Apollo Rivoire "married Deborah Hitchborn, a member of a long-standing Boston family", followed by pointing out that Revere grew up as part of his mother's extended family. Feel free to propose specific language changes if you think more needs to be said. Magic♪piano 21:50, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Specifically the only changes I would add would be that his mother was of entirely English ancestry, specifically she was descended (on all sides) from the English Puritans who founded and primarily populated the Boston area several generations earlier, and that this culture was the one in which Paul Revere was raised.174.70.83.194 (talk) 22:06, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
