Serious Problems

[edit]

Now that someone already started it: Does he always play guys who have SERIOUS problems(refering to staying with his mother for 30 years, for the love of Josh!).New Babylon

Picture

[edit]

Can whoever replaced the picture on here put it back, that one was much better than the current.

The Morgan Murphy link on the page connects to the wrong Morgan Murphy. Morgan Murphy is a young comic from California. She cowrote Patton Oswalt's William Shatner Roast performance. I do not believe she has her own Wikipedia page.

DJ Lazlo/GTA series

[edit]

I'm still of the belief that Lazlo and Oswalt are one in the same person. Lazlo sounds far too uncannily similar to Oswalt and when I first picked up GTA III and played a bit of it, I was nearly convinced it was him until I started thumbing through the instruction manual for it. Can anyone offer up substantial proof that they are in fact two separate individuals? 75.2.13.137 03:32, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lazlow.com has pics of Lazlow. Notice how different he looks from Patton. Case Closed.--Hndsmepete 19:10, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah thats like saying "can you prove to me that stephen king and bruce campbel are not the same person?"174.42.129.164 (talk) 19:46, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Neil Cumpston

[edit]

I think it's worth noting that he is widely believed to write under the pseudonm Neil Cumpston on AICN. This is widely speculated and a google search shows that they are believed to be one in the same, but I can't find anything that confirms or denies it. Any ideas of how to work that into the article?--Twintone 16:48, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OCD?

[edit]

I've heard and read Patton make reference to having obsessive-compulsive disorder, but he hasn't clearly stated that he has it, and I can't find any other definitive answer on this. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I remember him talking about having OCD when referencing his ex-girlfriend on one of his albums. He would try to make his CD's alphabetical, while his girlfriend just said something like: leave them on the floor, the goblins will pick them up.Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 21:43, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Black Comedy

[edit]

How is that fat white guy in black comedy? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.173.178.125 (talk) 20:59, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Black comedy" has nothing to do with race. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Black_comedy

Batman Beyond

[edit]

Patton Oswalt voiced Eldon Michaels in episode 23 of Season 2 in Batman Beyond, "Sentries".

I'd add it, But my wiki-fu is weak, and I do not know standard procedures.--DerPyro (talk) 22:54, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Recent tv appearance

[edit]

Uncredited in the article is Patton's recent appearance on Dollhouse. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.53.0.55 (talk) 22:37, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He was recently in Burn Notice for a few episodes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.202.90.9 (talk) 18:14, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Minor Trivia: Daughter's Name?

[edit]

Patton's daughter's name is Alice Rigney Oswalt. Does anyone know if this is a reference to the real name of author Robert Jordan? Just wonderin'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.134.238.111 (talk) 19:57, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No. It's not. It's his wife's mother's maiden name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lilystalk (talkcontribs) 17:25, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Icarus?

[edit]

There was a sentence here starting that Mr. Oswalt is the voice of the player character in the new Kid Icarus game. But I've found no evidence of this what-so-ever, outside of pages that repeat this Wikipedia entry verbatim. If someone can get a cite on this, great; if not, let's leave it out.68.41.99.9 (talk) 00:28, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Aqua Teen Hunger Force

[edit]

Patton was the voice for Ezekiel (an ancient, seemingly developmentally stunted, milk shake) in the fifth season of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. It's not mentioned in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.75.11.2 (talk) 22:09, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Racism charge

[edit]

This is probably not sourced well enough to match what was written in the article. --NeilN talk to me 05:35, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

should cite tweet directly? is racism and is engaged in publicly. see no problem including statement of fact. Lakdfhia (talk) 05:38, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

All you're citing is one editorial by an involved party. You need better sourcing than this. --NeilN talk to me 06:05, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

i did source better and was removed. please advise on how to proceed with ridiculous sourcing standards. is two source on racism, tweet itself, and public statement of him defend racism not enough? Lakdfhia (talk) 06:12, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Both sources are the exact same (the Salon story). And tweets are not an acceptable source (you cannot attach an interpretation to them). --NeilN talk to me 06:18, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

is not interpretation to point out racism in obvious racist comment. is simple statement of fact. is like saying comment of "black people are lazy" is not racist because interpretation necessary. ridiculous whitewashing. Lakdfhia (talk) 07:13, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Apples and oranges. He didn't say that, he made a joke. We cannot make the statement you added to the article based on a citation to an opinion piece, per WP:BLP and WP:RS - MrOllie (talk) 19:19, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

is not joke. joke is funny. is like saying make joke about greedy jewish are is not racist. is simple statement of fact. you are whitewash. is this place for politics or place for facts? Lakdfhia (talk) 19:27, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also not what he said. See Straw man. Wikipedia is a place for facts as reported by sources that meet our guidelines, which is why we insist on proper sources, not accusations in editorials. - MrOllie (talk) 19:31, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

place of facts like claim of economicron, yes? claim left unsourced in article through dispute, but is ignored because is inoffensive to politics of whitewashers. please to not argue proper sources when obvious asymmetrical requirement is not even trying to being hidden. Lakdfhia (talk) 19:36, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for removing that unsourced content. As you have just found Wikipedia is a work in progress and there is a lot of stuff to review. Just because some bit of content somewhere slid by without a good source does not mean we should add more improperly sourced content elsewhere. - MrOllie (talk) 19:44, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

is remove by bot now! ridiculous. please to fix mistake most quickly. Lakdfhia (talk) 19:49, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Name and DOB of non notable minor

[edit]

I removed this info for now. I tried to click the link to Brian Austin Greene but it didn't direct me correctly. For the most part, we don't include exact DOBs of non notable minors regardless of the amount of coverage, ect. Thoughts? --Malerooster (talk) 16:23, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Since the link evidently goes to a Wikipedia disambiguation page for the word "Talk", there clearly was a typo. You could very easily have gone to Talk:Brian Austin Green, and I ask that you do so now, and scroll down to the closed RfC consensus. --Tenebrae (talk) 17:33, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tenebrae, I read that and I am not very impressed. Just because a RFC at one bio went a certain way doesn't make that a MOS guideline. It seems that you are sort of middle on the road on this, correct? How about just using the year of birth? I wasn't edit warring and won't revert again. I know this has been discussed before, and I thought the "default" was NOT to include specific dob of non notable minor since it adds absolutely nothing to the understanding of the article subject, unless you are trying to show premarital sex, ie Sarah Palin, just kidding. Cheers, --Malerooster (talk) 19:53, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for discussing on the talk page, Malerooster. The RfC wasn't changing the guideline, but reiterating what the guideline says. Whether to include a DOB is up to editorial discretion, and that's certainly worth discussing at this article — as you surmise, I am not in favor of including purported birth dates and other such information when the only sources are anonymous, alleged "insiders" and the like, no matter who publishes such unconfirmed claims. When the parents themselves or their representatives consciously and proudly release this information to the press or, in this case, on a non-subscription blog accessible to everyone, then this basic and pertinent biographical information has been made very public. Not including it when it is confirmed and already available to millions of people seems non-encyclopedic at the very least. --Tenebrae (talk) 14:31, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Murder accusations?

[edit]

Sorry if this isn't how to inform you guys, as I've never done so before, but the "Personal Life" section of Patton Oswalt's page repeatedly accuses him of murdering his late wife. Unless I missed a pretty big news story, somebody's been messing with it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.93.30.155 (talk) 18:03, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tomodachi Life?

[edit]

Who is the character ‘Nick’ from Tomodachi Life supposed to be? Afaik, Tomodachi Life doesn’t use real voice acting and instead uses tts. I cannot find a source on Patton Oswalt supposedly doing voice work for that game Winduss (talk) 18:09, 4 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Patton Oswalt

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Patton Oswalt's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Role in Tomodachi Life?

[edit]

Supposedly potrayed a character named "nick"? Despite there being no known webpages or sources that confirm this.

As someone who's played Tomodachi Life, the game doesn't have voice acting; just stock voice clips and TTS. This doesn't seem at all true. Hoggington (talk) 16:36, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Influences

[edit]

shouldn’t George Carlin be included under “Influences”? After all, Patton wrote the liner notes, dated December 7th, 2017, to the “George Carlin Commemorative Collection” DVD box set. 2600:100B:A102:41F6:4861:677D:1067:8948 (talk) 18:42, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
