Edit warring and misuse of source

[edit]

@Persian Lad: Since you refused to take it to the talk, looks like I have to start the topic. Are you gonna explain on why you insist on edit warring this piece of information back onto the article? --HistoryofIran (talk) 22:19, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@HistoryofIran: you need to do better than simply calling it a misuse of source. What exactly have I misused? Why would I put a source there and make an edit if it was not correct?--Persian Lad (talk) 02:55, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also have a look at this source.--Persian Lad (talk) 02:58, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Persian Lad: You need to do better than avoiding a discussion and resorting to edit warring. Even now you are attempting to avoid my very question. Looks like I have to take the initiative again; this is what the source actually says "In the meantime an attempt was made on the adjoining province of Pars (Faris, Persia proper)". Unless you have an explanation of how the Arabic Faris is another name for the Sasanian province, this is clearly referring to the region of Fars as a whole (in other words more fitting to Fars Province). Not to mention the source uses the word "Persia" to refer to the country itself. I have noticed that you tend to attempt to add something about the name of Persia/Persis etc in many articles no matter what, and I can't help but think this is starting to look like WP:TENDENTIOUS. We don't have to mention it in every article (at least not in the lede, it could be mentioned in a etymology/name section though). Also, the link doesn't even work. --HistoryofIran (talk) 14:40, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok this is sounding a little ridiculous. I notice you persistently edit war over a range of topics over the smallest details. Why do you have to be so picky? At least half your edits are edit warring. After providing reliable sources, you now try to accuse me of "distorting" them which is not true at all. They clearly state they're referring to the same thing. So what if Persians call their homeland PArs? Are we supposed to make it look like it means something else just because the English translation is not the same word? And what's wrong with mentioning it? How is an English reader supposed to know the meaning of a foreign word in the lead? Why does it hurt you so much to have it there?--Persian Lad (talk) 03:53, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Persian Lad: Please refrain from WP:NPA and stick to the topic. You've answered none of my points. --HistoryofIran (talk) 10:04, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I have. You need to stop with the accusations.--Persian Lad (talk) 21:04, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It is relevant for English speakers to know the meaning of Fars on an English encyclopedia.--Persian Lad (talk) 21:07, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Edit warring, (still) refusing to participate in a conversation, personal attacks towards me. I think it's safe to say I have to take this WP:ANI. --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:08, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You really think this is helping your case? - LouisAragon (talk) 21:30, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
