I don't understand why this article shouldn't currently be considered a stub; it's just a couple of sentences SUBWAYguy 21:16, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
- Adding stub templates must have some purpose. It is not for the readers, it is for other editors who can identify which articles require an immediate improvement, and this is why we have
deletionstub sorting - so that someone can figure out which exactly articles on Caracas metro, or on Venezuela or whatever needs to be improved. However, here improvement beyond what is already in the article would require expert knowledge and access to specialized literature (for example, one should describe architecture, the construction history, and transport flows from the station). We just do not have such editors. Caracas metro was opened in 1983, and until now nobody cared about them, except for Kingsif and myself. These potential expert editors, if they ever come to the article, will not be going through the Venezuela or transportation stub sorting. They would come directly to List of Caracas Metro stations and will see what is needed. In this sense, stub templates do not help to improve the article. On the other hand, whereas mostly they are harmless, they could attract editors without expert knowledge of the subject who would just do something useless (for example, I often see such editors adding the See Also section with a list of completely irrelevant articles). So in this case (Caracas metro, and more generally metro stations in the developing countries) it is better if the template is not there.--Ymblanter (talk) 06:43, 21 November 2019 (UTC)- I concur: anyone who can improve the article will find it through looking. I’d have made the Maracaibo metro pages if there were even a few accessible sources, but that’s where even a landmark service like the CAMETRO falls victim to being in Venezuela, where there’s minimal dispersion of information on even important things. - @Kingsif:: Urbanrail by Robert Schwandl (or any books by Schwandl) is a universal reliable source for basic info on metro stations, though sometimes it is out of date (we should be careful for example when we come to Line 5 of Caracas metro).--Ymblanter (talk) 12:46, 23 November 2019 (UTC)
