Promotional material

[edit]

I have had to remove promotional material from the article multiple times. Under an "alumni" section, "major recruiters" were listed, and a "Placements at PEC" section included nothing but a list recruiters again. Please stop adding these, they are nothing but promotion. --Muhandes (talk) 12:13, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the comparison between the material I removed and the placement section in IIT Kharagpur, there is a huge difference between the cases (not that I like the one in IIT Kharagpur, but at least it is not blatant promotion). The material there is sourced by unrelated secondary sources. It is not just a list of companies which hired alumni - it is a sourced discussion on the placement. The alumni section in IIT Kharagpur is not about promotion - it is about alumni. What you wrote is simply a list of companies, which contributes nothing to article, except as a tool for promotion. --Muhandes (talk) 22:14, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
