StruthioOstrich – Per the discussion at Talk:Common ostrich#Requested move 15 September 2018. This would place both birds known as "ostrich" at that name. bd2412 T 17:35, 13 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

– Per previous discussions, and WP:COMMONNAME. Hemiauchenia (talk) 14:12, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, but the same thing could be said for the current ostrich article, hopefully reducing the scope will encourage other users to improve it. Hemiauchenia (talk) 10:21, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Qualified Support Both articles are rather bare though and I have doubts whether Common ostrich isn't a better primary article for "Ostrich". Only one kind of ostrich is extant; there is no "rare ostrich" and rheas are not usually called ostriches. Struthionidae and Struthio need their own articles as they're concepts different from The Ostrich, as usually referred to, and do not have alternative names. GPinkerton (talk) 05:17, 19 April 2020 (UTC) Edit: Was behind the times on taxonomy of the Somali ostrich. Full support. GPinkerton (talk) 05:23, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. ~ HAL333 06:38, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fix grammatical errors in intro paragraph

[edit]

"They are farmed worldwide, with significant industies in the Philippines, and Namibia ." -> "They are farmed worldwide, with significant industries in the Philippines, and Namibia."

Note I've fixed "industies" -> "industries" and deleted the extra space between "Namibia" and the period. GreenDevolution (talk) 00:05, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done Thanks User:GreenDevolution for catching that and reporting. I also removed a stray comma. This new content is interesting, User:Carbon Caryatid, but needs citations as it does not summarize any content of the article body. DMacks (talk) 11:25, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
