Models and Moire Interference

[edit]

Hey folks, As there are quite a few alternatives to Moire interference, I think, it is problematic to mention only this one. From what I can see, models of self-organization, pioneered by von der Malsburg, have had a huge impact. For instance, his original paper "Self-organization of orientation sensitive cells in the striate cortex" got 1500 citations over the years. I think, we should be cautious with the entire modelling section to not present a biased view.
