Clarity of the article
[edit]I don't find the article to be very clear. After reading, I am still not sure what OPC does. Some examples and pictures/diagrams would be useful — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.125.71.178 (talk) 14:23, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
DDE
[edit]I have a little bit confusion in " what is the main difference between the OPC and DDE comunication"? Can any one help me?
For reference you can contact me at "irfi2118@hotmail.com".
DDE use clipboard to store data temporarily and retrives on particular interval while OPC is used for realtime processes like handshaking

OPC now Open Process Collaboration?
[edit]Hasn't the official meaning of OPC changed to Open Process Collaboration?
That is what Nathan Pocock claimed in the software developer radio show ".NET Rocks" on 2008-08-07 (it is also stated on the associated web page - see the last link below),

OPC based SCADA
[edit]Does anybody know an OPC based SCADA software which can work on both Windows and Linux? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.99.182.77 (talk) 10:43, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
URL/References out of date
[edit]The references to opcfoundation.org don't seem to exist anymore. These need some updating — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.254.148.67 (talk) 09:29, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

OLE for Process Control → Open Platform Communications – It's the official name since November 2011 and is probably most frequently used by now. FelschR (talk) 09:05, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

What does OPC stand for?
[edit]Well I guess the name of the article is completely wrong. The Source given for the reason of the name "Open Platform Communications" shows a text, where this name is not mentioned once [1]. So it is completely incorrect. The OPC Foundation still doesn't have full name for OPC. It seems to be just three letters with a historical meaning and that's it. --Neto-Zeme (talk)
--- Edit ---
For now they changed it in the source to the name mentioned here. So now this is finally correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Neto-Zeme (talk • contribs) 10:47, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
