March 2007
[edit]Hello all, and thank you for contributing to this school site. I'm part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Schools/Assessment team, and, as it recently requested a review, then I'm reviewing this page. I'm currently giving it a grade of start on the Wikipedia 1.0 Assessment Scale and an importance of Low on this importance scale.
My reasoning is as follows: Well its a good start length. Importance mid as the school appears to be well sought after, Appears to be three refs but actually they are all to the same freindly web site. Some pics? Suggestion. You were recently included in a Newsweek review ... quote it. Newsweek[1]. Hope this helps Victuallers 22:22, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Possible Scandals/Dirt Section?
[edit]First of all, 100% of OSSM students are not college bound. In fact, from my two years at the school, I know of a handful of students that have been demoralised and have given up higher education all-together. This includes one student who was kicked out for accumulation of minor infractions, only to live out of a car. OSSM is an opportunity for some, but a challenge for those who wish to be treated like a human being. If considering the school, find a way to talk to past and present students. Ask about class retention. Were 25% of students kicked out last year? Ask why. Ask about the massive number of expulsions from the class of 2004, as well.
- I graduated in the class of 1992. Yes, it was academically, emotionally, and physically rigorous. (I could tell all sorts of great stories about how my friends inspired new behavioral rules.) Many left for one reason or another. But we were the first class. There was much to learn on all sides, and I'm sure they're still learning. I'm glad I stayed through it all. Lawton RC link
[edit]I removed the purported link to the Lawton regional center site after following it to find a site with no information whatsoever about OSSM or its regional centers. If this changes in the future, it could certainly be re-added; for now, though, that link seems to have nothing to do with OSSM and, thus, doesn't belong here. Ashdog137 22:39, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Attrition rates
[edit]While I was making the previous changed, I rephrased the attrition section to avoid the unsourced 7-10% attrition statement. If anyone can provide verifiable evidence of the actual rate that could be linked to, then we could add it back in; as is, it seems to be either outright conjecture or original research, neither of which would be appropriate here. In a tour, Director of Admissions stated that 3-6 leave every year. I haven't found it anywhere else. 68.235.146.90 (talk) 05:40, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
