The ships listed in the article are notable in that they have their own pages, but those pages rarely mention Wellington. I created this list to focus on Wellington - ships that were the first, the biggest, economically important to Wellington or politically controversial: the kind of significant visits where the ships attracted crowds of spectators, and were widely discussed in the media.
