WikiProject Scotland

[edit]

Shouldn't this be part of WikiProject Scotland, since Scots is grouped here with English (for reasons that should be obvious to any Anglophone reading the Scots Wikipedia)? --50.45.42.56 (talk) 10:05, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Jutland?

[edit]

As a student of Anglo-Saxon who wonders what languages were spoken in Jutland and when, I can't help noticing that the numerous pages that refer to it all say something different and VERY VAGUE. I suppose that a dialect of Saxon reigned until maybe 900AD when early Danish took over? And what is that pink at the tip of your map, early Danish or something else (some of the putative maps of Tacitus' Germania indicate the Cimbri ended up there?!)? -I am also looking for more information on Danish contributions to Anglo-Frisian languages. It needs to be on this page 124.169.133.90 (talk) 14:27, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ingvaeonic languagesNorth Sea Germanic – I suggest to move the article to North Sea Germanic, as this is currently the most often used term for this dialectal grouping. This would also make it more consistent with its sister-articles Weser-Rhine Germanic and Elbe Germanic and avoid possible confusion with the Ingaevones-article.AKAKIOS (talk) 20:36, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Support - the arguments for the move are sound. --Pfold (talk) 13:37, 10 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
