This page could use quite a bit more work

[edit]

Hi! I am a student at the University of Washington Bothell and a member of the 2015-2016 UWREN team working with Friends of North Creek Forest. I was happy to see that a wiki page had been set up for North Creek Forest, but there is substantial room for improvement. For example, the second paragraph states that invasive species are a major threat, and then moves on to say that an active partnership in restoration wants to prevent... I believe this can be expanded upon, by creating a Threats Heading with a listing of the major threats, including the ones already listed, but perhaps with more detail about what invasive species are threatening and why. Then a Conservation Heading that talks in greater detail about the active partnership. Also, more information can be put in regarding the active partnership that is leading conservation, including what they are doing and what they have already done, in a bit more detail. The third paragraph talks about the grant to gain the remaining 22 acres, but there isn't any detail as to what this is for and why this is considered a conservation achievement. This page is a good start.

I agree that this page could use some significant additions.

I think it should be corrected that this is a mixed deciduous/evergreen, conifer/hardwood forest and not just a conifer forest. It would also be good to note that this is a second growth forest that was logged about a century ago. I think the organization "friends of north creek forest" should be mentioned because they are pivotal in conserving and buying this land in the first place as well as continued forest management. Perhaps a section dedicated to the organization itself would be beneficial to this article. Overall a little more on the history of the place might be helpful. I think another important thing is to include what kinds of vegetation is dominant in the forest. There should also be a section on wildlife that has been observed in this forest. I think it should also be mentioned what education partners they have and what sorts of learning opportunities should be provided.
