I have removed most of the information for the second half of this article because it applies to the original stage version of "The New Moon", and not to the film versions. Both film versions use notably different storylines, and even the names of the characters are somewhat different. There are also fewer songs in the film versions than there are in the play.AlbertSM (talk) 18:29, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed them again because somebody put them back, and they are wrong. AlbertSM (talk) 01:39, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Poster - New Moon (1940) 01.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on February 11, 2015. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2015-02-11. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 15:20, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New Moon
New Moon is a 1940 musical film directed by Robert Z. Leonard and released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Based on the operetta The New Moon, this film stars Nelson Eddy as a French nobleman who heads to New Orleans and serves as a bondsman, later leading a revolt against his ship's captain.Poster: Tooker Litho Co.; restoration: Chris Woodrich
