Requested move 4 January 2019
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Moved. Consensus is that usage in English reliable source support the proposed title. Also, I note the page views for this person are much higher than for the Washington town, so overriding that redirect should not be a problem per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. - Comment: Other WPs seem to be about fifty-fifty, and the Portuguese WP spells it "i" not "í". I couldn't find an RS about what his "correct" (e.g. birth name, given name) is, but WP:COMMONNAME would give preference to what is used in English-language sources. Since "í" is not used in English, and more difficult to type, then it is perhaps less common, although my searches are inconclusive, again. I'm not even sure a picture of his shirt back helps, as I think FIFA only use letters from the basic Latin alphabet? (e.g Cyrillic names are romanized.) 89.147.70.233 (talk) 21:10, 11 January 2019 (UTC)r
- Comment With this edit I added a hatnote at Neilton, Washington, to which Neilton currently redirects. 89.147.70.233 (talk) 21:17, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support. Both the English-language references currently given in the article use the proposed spelling. The correct spelling according to WP:AT is the one attested in secondary English sources; Other Wikipedias, birth name etc are irrelevant. Andrewa (talk) 16:39, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
