Edits Reverted
[edit]@Steven, You currently reverted my edits that were done on this article. Firstly, I have removed the coordinates from the infobox because in all the articles irrespective of the infobox used, you will be able to see the coordinates at the top right of the page. When I saw this article, within around 5 lines, I was able to see that the coordinates are seen twice, one at the topmost right and another inside the infobox. So I removed the coordinate present inside the infobox. Secondly, I have removed the attribute type from the page. There are two attributes namely funding_type and type which cannot be used together. When you use both these attributes together, you will be able to see a new hidden category "Pages using infobox school with deprecated parameters". So I request you to revert the edits. Please check Parameters section in [1] template. Adithyak1997 (talk) 08:49, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
- Adithyak1997, you removed the coordinates altogether including its parameter - the "display=inline, title" is what makes the coordinates appear in the infobox and top. (John, anything you can add regarding coordinates?) As for the type parameter, yes you were right to remove that, I've sorted this out after cleaning up the infobox. - Nope. The template coord is used precisely as it should be in conjunction with infobox school. I'd suggest that we not worry so much about minutia and find sources for this unsourced article. Remember unsourced content can be removed at any time, and with no sources, that means this article is a candidate for redirect to its parent institution unless some reliable secondary sources are added. @Steven, thank you for removing the infobox error categories from the page. Adithyak1997 (talk) 17:07, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
- Nothing. I did. This article has no sources to show its notability. Without sources, it can at any time be redirected to the article on its parent institution. Quit worrying about little things like the coordinates template, which Steven has placed on hundreds, if not thousands of articles and knows how to do it perfectly. Instead, concentrate on what is wrong with the article, which is that it lacks reliable secondary sources. That is a fatal flaw. John from Idegon (talk) 17:11, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks John. Adithyak1997, John is an experienced editor and a coordinator for schools, what he has said is absolutely correct. I just need to add that it's easy to just "remove" unsupported parameters, but the majority of the school articles have other issues besides this. Some are a candidate for redirect like this (as John has said), some have unnecessary/unsourced information that require removal, category-related issues and so on. @Steven (Editor), I am actually a newbie who has done around 8000 edits only and that too in English and Malayalam Wikipedias together. I am currently engaged(myself) in removing the backlog which requires only minor edits which constitute to around 2,00,000 in numbers. This was one among them. Sorry for the inconvenience made to you as well as to John from Idegon. Adithyak1997 (talk) 03:17, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
