where is nutritional data from NIN on common Indian foods ?
[edit]It would be great if NIN published macro and micronutrients data ( all vitmains, minerals, isoflavons etc) on common Indian foods such as Idli, Vada, Pab bhaji, chapatti, dal, bhelpuri etc. These items are not in USDA data base. e.g. http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/nutrients/index — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vwalvekar (talk • contribs) 07:17, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

It is a fact that the text for article National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad was largely based on its homepage, it is not a copyright violation, it can be termed as a mild form of replication based on a Primary source. Ultimately the article has to be based on a verifiable referable source and as per wiki policy no original research is allowed. Therefore this article about this institute was based largely on the information provided by NIN site and ICMR homepage. Also please note that no images was used by me in this article, the image about Pasteur Institute is taken from Wiki Commons. The mission statement can not be created by me it has to be based on its website info. National Institute of Nutrition is a premium research institute run by Government of India. Wikipedia should carry an article on this institute. If not in its present form, the texts, intros and mission statements can be rephrased to suit wikipedia. The texts can be rephrased by wiki experts Sarvagyana guru (talk) 16:36, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- Wikipedia cannot accept text copied from sources unless the source is in the public domain or has been released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 License. Even "mild" copy-pasting is a violation of policy. Some quotation is permissable when it is placed within quotes and provided with an in-line citation. In general, articles should always be rewritten from scratch using original language. Note that original language does not constitute original research as long as the ideas still reflect the meaning of the source.
- The text in the article has now been revised to avoid copyright infringement and the copy violation template removed. — CactusWriter | needles 10:06, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
