Cleanup request

This article is really not that informative and the author puts his or her spin on everything factual. WalkinDownThirtyThree 22:04, 11 May 2005 (UTC)

I disagree with the request for cleanup. Until someone writes a better stuff, this has served me well, thank you. The charge that the author "puts his/her spin on everything factual" is patently untrue. There is, indeed, an insinuation that Frank Sinatra's heart problems sprung from Nancy's posing to Playboy (certainly a slip of the author, and certainly something that disturbed the User thar requires the cleanup), but that is the only un-factual piece I could find in all the article. For me, it stays.

I think the idea of putting a "spin on everything factual" refers less to the idea that statements are untrue, and more to the subjective descriptions being accompanying the factual info. POV terms throughout include 'tantalising', 'shapely', 'irresistable' and 'impressive'. I don't really understand disagreeing with a cleanup request for the reasons you give. Whether the article serves you or not, it could be improved by adding citations, making it NPOV and having it comply with other appropriate Wiki guidelines. Many articles on here may still be useful to a reader, but they are required to be encyclopedic in tone. In fact, you stated 'until someone writes better stuff', which is the point of requesting/tagging for cleanup, to encourage something better to be written. This sounds like a protest that would be more suitable if someone was proposing deletion of the entire thing.
I'm adding a POV tag and I encourage to make the appropriate changes.Spikedcandy 20:04, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

How about a discography? --Ekaiyu 04:08, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

Cleanup request

At least can we highlight the fact that she certainly isn't/wasn't a Trip Hop Artist if any kind. Thanks

Music question

Can anyone shed light on the Friday's Child song. Her Greatest Hits albums use a version which is not the hit single recording. Why?

Was Boots a promo clip or Scopitone?

I know it was common pre-MTV for artists to release promo clips of their songs. But if you search "These Boots Are Made For Walking" on YouTube, some of the several clips that pop up appear to be Scopitones. Anyone know? Would love to include this bit of info in Nancy entry. Thanks. Kinkyturnip (talk) 17:21, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

In the "Notable foreign albums" section, I think "Like I Do (Denmark - 1990, Teenage Records)" links to the wrong page. Niels E (talk) 13:39, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

EILEEN

Someone has added (talking about "Boots") - "Was later recorded by "EILEEN",who also translated the song in French (Ces Bottes sont Faites pour Marcher), and in German. It is stated that EILEEN's version is used more than the original recording." This seems unlikely to me - I will delete. -- Beardo (talk) 22:06, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Boots clip

This says the girls were wearing miniskirts, and later says hot pantys. Which ? -- Beardo (talk) 09:47, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

I've cleaned that up now, and added cites. They wore neither as it happens, they wore leotards over black tights, and colourful sweaters. SilkTork ✔Tea time 17:01, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
