Reverted dubious additions[edit]

See Talk:Myanmar Radio and Television, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Midnight Radio and Television, and User_talk:Boing!_said_Zebedee#MRTV. We've had an anonymous editor making lots of unsourced changes to a number of articles related to TV stations in Myanmar, including changing a number of articles to claim that Myanmar TV stations are actually Thai TV stations - he has been posting from a range of IPs belonging to TOT (Telephone Organization of Thailand) in Bangkok. A lot of the changes made have been plainly incorrect and have been reverted, and so I really don't think the unsourced changes made here from the same IP ranges - see [1] - can be trusted, and so I've reverted them. -- Boing! said Zebedee 18:46, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, there's also a lot of unsourced older stuff added by the same IP ranges too - including all the "sample old schedules in English" - which must also be doubtful, and probably needs revisiting. -- Boing! said Zebedee 18:52, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It seems there might be two IP posters here, judging by a comment left on my Talk page, but the contributions are all similarly unsourced and 125.25.26.25 (talk) has certainly made incorrect statements before, and it sounds like his/her sources are from chatting to people on the internet - so I don't think we can really accept unsourced contributions from him/her. -- Boing! said Zebedee 09:44, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The programs are all part of an elaborate, sick hoax. There was no TV service in Myanmar until 1979. The programs in early 80s were just three hours long on weekdays. From 7.30 pm to about 10.30 pm. The main MRTV has never had a News in English program. It's a strictly Burmese language channel. MRTV-3 (now Myanmar International) is the English language channel. (I have to give it to him for his creativity! He must have a lot of time on his hands.) I will remove these changes.Hybernator (talk) 00:31, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And do you notice the "Test pattern" in the schedule? It's just an add-up as in the past at night (in every countries) the transmitters are shut off, and for few hours before startup will show the test pattern. I don't know about this for real as I live in Thailand, I am Thai, I speak Thai, and watch only Thai TVs + 2 local TVs near my house.--125.25.213.253 (talk) 21:30, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
