The order of the genres

[edit]

There is no reason to put the less popular British music genres at the top. We have to present the music genres of each decade according to their popularity worldwide (In the same way we have done here for example). It makes absolutely no sense to put the more obscure genres at the top (For example - Sabrebd put the "2 Tone and Reggae" section at the top of the Music of the United Kingdom (1980s) article. Please explain to us why we should order it differently. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 17:45, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rather than reply five times I have put one answer here.--SabreBD (talk) 00:57, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Artists whom should be moved to the Rock section

[edit]

10cc, Status Quo, Mungo Jerry, The Boomtown Rats and Ian Dury and the Blockheads need to be moved under the Rock section - some of them under the section "Soft rock and singer-songwriter". TheCuriousGnome (talk) 13:52, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see no problem with that as long as they can be fitted into a sentence (or more than one).--SabreBD (talk) 16:07, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps we should move the 10cc to Soft rock? Quo to hard rock and the last two to new wave?--SabreBD (talk) 08:44, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please do so only after double checking it in the AMG database. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 03:58, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Elton John and Rod Stewart produced pop music during the 1970s

[edit]

As you will see by examining their artists profiles on their own wikipedia articles and their AMD profiles, Elton John and Rod Stewart produced songs for both genres during the 1970s. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 03:28, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Elton John is definatly the most prominent Pop act during the 1970s (And he is more known for being a pop artist than a rock artist even though he did both) - that's why I moved his image to the pop section instead. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 03:58, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
