Magazine funded by C.I.A. ?

[edit]

Gloria Steinem supposedly gave an interview stating that funding for Ms magazine came directly from the C.I.A. I'll try and get a good source for this soon.

Recent controversy re refusal of advertisement

[edit]

The material under the heading "Rejection of Israel advertisement from American Jewish Congress" appears too long to be consistent with the overall balance in regard to the article's subject, as well as not being NPOV. In both explaining or defending the actions of Ms magazine it quotes only the Statement of Katherine Spillar, while quoting numerous critics at length. It omits the core element of Spillar's explanation of the magazine's actions. It is followed by a link to Jewish feminism, but there are no other links (remembering that this is a page about Ms Magazine in general). I'm going to try some editing here and hope I get a more NPOV. Cheers hamiltonstone (talk) 06:42, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Patricia Smith

[edit]

Why is there no mention of the controversy over Ms. Magazine's hiring of Patricia Smith, a former black female columnist for the Boston who resigned in disgrace after it was learned that she had faked many of the stories in her columns? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bostoner (talkcontribs) 23:25, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello wikipedians! I will be editing the Ms. Magazine page with more information about the first cover, Ms. Magazine and Women of Color, and a small section about the Ms. blog. Art mediaeditor (talk) 23:22, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
