[edit]"Schroer's solo is commented on in Saxophone Scales and Arpegios, as a reason why saxophonists should learn scales. The saxophone solos in "Moondance", Candy Dulfer's "Lily Was Here" and Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" are described as the most influential in pop and jazz music. The scale used in Schroer's "Moondance" solo is dorian B (B, C#, D, E, F#, G#, A)".
The above edit has been questioned and said to be not accurate, so it would best to copy the material that is covered by the reference as given [Saxophone Scates and Arpegios] to this talk page below so there is no room for doubt. (Always best when the ref. is inaccess. to others and the material has been removed, before restoring it.) Agadant (talk) 15:42, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- Just the last sentence was questioned, which in the book reads "The sax solo in Van Morrison's "Moondance" is in Dorian B (B, C#, D, E, F#, G#, A)." I'm sure the edit was questioning the lack of sharp sign after the C, which I copied out wrong - I even know that scale realy well so it was an error on my behalf. Van Morrison said …?
[edit]In the § Covers section, we have a quote from Van, naming two versions he likes. But there is no reference given to prove he said it. Can somebody supply the citation, please? yoyo (talk) 05:51, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
- Not me, and it has been unsourced a long time. I'm inlcined to remove it unless a source comes soon. Doctorhawkes (talk) 07:25, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
