[edit]Pabrai has been often criticized on value investing websites for not really following Buffett's style of investing despite his constant references to this style.
The majority of Pabrai's ideas do not exhibit Buffett like characteristics i.e.: wide moat, competitive advantage, high ROIC, low cost producer, valuable brands etc.
He describes his investments as low risk and high uncertainty but several of his ideas have gone on to fall dramatically, many more than 50%: CCRT, PNCL, ABXA, SHLD, DFC.
His ideas seemed to work during the period of easy credit and rising markets in the early 2000's. However, when times are tough there is little franchise value in many of his co's to support the value.
