Gus is based off of...

From the character bio: Gus is based on Lawrence Tierney. From the trivia section: The character of Gus was based on Broderick Crawford.

This needs to be corrected. Since neither of these have sources, should they just both be removed for now?

Characters

If someone could clean up my Characters contubution that would be great, I'm quite new to Wiki — unsigned comment posted by Skmooch on 21:24, 5 June 2006

Done. (TigerK 69 01:26, 23 December 2006 (UTC))

Carlos is not a "non-working" marital partner. He works as an artist. This is clearly stated in an episode (unemployment part 2?) regarding Andy's unemployment. Pygmypony 16:20, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Also, Jim never eats from the garbage. He eats from an abandoned plate at the Gus Lunch. Pygmypony 16:22, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

No, he does...he is filing through the trash and licks his fingers after wiping them through an old can. Jmlk17 20:55, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Removed Images

Certian images have been removed by me because they have been added to a category that makes them speediable, most likely Category:Images with no copyright tag. Kilo-Lima|(talk) 16:24, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Why do Secondary characters have pictures but not the main characters? H2P 07:24, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Episode articles

I cleaned up the three or four episode articles that existed and created the remaining missing articles. They're all stubs right now, so if anybody can add some more info for some of them, that'd be super. Jeff Silvers 21:58, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

NPOV

I'm sorry, this is incredibably NPOV (and I'm a biased Mission Hill fan!). "He is hilariously mellow "... intertwined with a lot of other comments making this not very NPOV.

Part of the problem may be that most of the character descriptions were originally lifted straight from the Mission Hill website (though they appear to have been edited since then to some extent). Jeff Silvers 17:09, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
I went through the character descriptions and deleted what would be considered "incredibably" NPOV. Most of it was it Jims description, but there were a few other tihngs I deleted that you could check if you'd like.

I'm pretty sure...

In the episode, "Happy Birthday, Kevin" (or "Happy Birthday, Douchebag"), I think that the song "Porcelain" and not "Everloving" by Moby is the song that plays when Andy finds Kevin in their old house. If someone could check and change the entry in the "List of Mission Hill episodes", that would be great.

Image:Mission Hill character Andy French.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. First gay kiss on television?

Is it true that the pilot episode of this show contained the first man-on-man kiss on [American?] television? They say so in the DVD commentary for the pilot episode, but I am wondering if there are any other sources to verify this claim. -220.245.253.81 (talk) 06:41, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

From what I can find, Dawson's Creek holds the distinction for having the first man-on-man kiss on American television with the episode "True Love" which aired May 24, 2000 but the airdate of Mission Hill's pilot episode is September of 1999 which does predate Dawson's Creek. I can find no source giving Mission Hill the credit probably because in The Simpsons episode "Simpson and Delilah", airdate October 18, 1990, Homer is kissed by his assistant (voiced by Harvey Fierstein) more than likely making this the first man-on-man kiss on TV. Bhall87Four Scoreand Seven 19:05, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
Picket Fences predated Dawson's, but not the Simpsons, in 92 on Season 1 it showed (on two dif episodes) both a male and a female homosexual kiss. I guess the internet did not exist on quite the boom level for when M.H. aired, but yeah the commentary said they did it first, but clearly they did not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.91.6.57 (talk) 14:28, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

unsourced

In absence of a source, I have removed the following line from Wally's blurb

"a reference to Tom Graeff's film Teenagers from Outer Space."

Hiring friends of the director is hardly unique to this film. Wickedjacob (talk) 07:07, 9 March 2017 (UTC)

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: move the page to Mission Hill (TV series) at this time, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 03:20, 28 April 2018 (UTC)

Mission HillMission Hill (TV series) – I don't believe this TV show that ran for less than one season in 2000 is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC in terms of long-term significance compared to the Boston neighborhood of Mission Hill, Boston and other uses like Mission Hill, South Dakota. Cúchullain t/c 20:58, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

The dab page is at Mission Hills, presumably because more of the uses have the plural "Hills". But yes, if the move happens, Mission Hill should redirect to the dab page.--Cúchullain t/c 13:28, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Air Dates vs. Episode Numbers

Does anyone know or have a source why the air dates do not match with episode order? (Eg: Episode 2, Andy Joins the PTA, aired after the final episode.) I have also seen the episodes listed in chronological air date order elsewhere (with E2 as the final last episode of the season), so would like to know (and edit to explain) why the discrepancy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Unitof (talkcontribs) 20:01, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
