Ministry of National Defense (North Korea) → Ministry of Defence (North Korea) – This is the official name provided by North Korea. Migs005 (talk) 03:17, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: No evidence of this alleged official name has been provided. I suspect that the actual official name is in the Korean language rather than in English. The one source that I see cited in the article uses "Defense", not "Defence". — BarrelProof (talk) 09:43, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- @BarrelProof: The new name is used in this NK state media report on the 14 January 2021 military parade. Link to article --Migs005 (talk) 14:52, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you. OK. I do not object. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:32, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

Ministry of Defence (North Korea) → Ministry of National Defense (North Korea) – This is the name the US government used in a recent press release (Link to article) and is also stated in the context of its renaming in an official South Korean publication (Link to article). It is also given as the English name in the Korean language version of this Wikipedia article (here). Lastly, the name used in Korean has the word "국가" seems to be more commonly translated as "nation". Jj1984o (talk) 20:06, 20 December 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. - Move to Ministry of National Defence (North Korea), with "c" instead of "s" in "defence". Appears to be the spelling used in the state-run The Pyongyang Times. results for defence vs 0 for defense. Also sp used by Naenara [1]. seefooddiet (talk) 09:11, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
