[edit]Re-direct needed: Most news items that I have seen do not have the accent (nor does the WPBiography... listed above! ), so a re-direct fromMiguel Diaz-Canel to Miguel Díaz-Canel would be handy.202.179.22.106 (talk) 02:46, 26 February 2013 (UTC)

17th president
[edit]He is shown as the 17th president of Cuba - but where does that numbering come from ? In the Spanish language wikipedia, he is listed as 24th - https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anexo:Presidentes_de_Cuba - Beardo (talk) 04:33, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
- I used this article List_of_presidents_of_Cuba#Republic_of_Cuba_(since_the_Revolution) as a reference; apparently, the difference stems from some of the presidents not being included in the numbering in the English article, while the Spanish article includes every single president. I'm not sure why the English article skips various presidents in the count. David O. Johnson (talk) 04:40, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
- Exactly. And unless we have a source, deciding on a numbering system of our own surely counts as OR ? -- Beardo (talk) 15:40, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
- I believe we should strike the number as it is not an accurate number. I would rather the article be accurate than to post a number which on its face does not appear to be accurate. I did a search on various websites, both Spanish and English, and could not find a source to support the number listed in the article. Jurisdicta (talk) 04:54, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Help please
Saludos cordiales Karen Duke 2A00:23C7:EE05:E901:7176:BB11:9948:9CC8 (talk) 16:00, 25 July 2021 (UTC)

please change Miguel Díaz-Canel to Miguel Díaz-Canel (Singao) Jason840917 (talk) 01:01, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- Not done: @Jason840917: Welcome to Wikipedia! I'm afraid I must decline this request as it would require community consensus to alter the how the name of this living person is presented in the article and, presumably, move this page to a title matching this request. I would suggest opening up another section on this page and submitting your case for this change. Have a good one, and cheers! —Sirdog9002 (talk) 01:26, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
Semiprotect page
[edit]This page is still occasionally vandalized with "singao" nonsense and other defamatory insults, so it is an appreciated act to semi-protect this page (extended-confirmed protection is also good). Cheers! MLDGuaDimana (talk) 10:33, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- I just removed "singao" (meaning "vile") from the name in the infobox.--Jack Upland (talk) 03:41, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
