Continued use
[edit]I believe I read that this facility will continue to be used to service the Empire Builder (which will only pause at St. Paul Union Depot 7–8 minutes). Is that correct? Kablammo (talk) 19:25, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
- Here is the answer:
What’s New, All Aboard Minnesota. So Midway Station will remain a service stop for Amtrak. Kablammo (talk) 20:06, 7 May 2014 (UTC)Amtrak plans to stop the Empire Builder at Midway each day to water and service the train and add/drop off coaches and private cars. How will Amtrak explain to passengers that we are stopping here each day, but you can’t get on or off where you have for the past 35 years? How do you explain that passengers must wait an additional 30 minutes while the eastbound train is serviced and taken to downtown St. Paul where people can then get off and go backwards 11 miles to Minneapolis?
