First automobile journey
[edit]"First automobile journey" is not relevant to Micheldever railway station so I propose to move it to Micheldever. Biscuittin (talk) 20:29, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

- @Biscuittin: Does the source say Micheldever, or Micheldever Station? If the latter (or some variant of that), it does belong in this article, because the station and village are something like three miles apart. I suspect that it was the station, because that is very close to what was then the main road from London to Exeter (now the A303). --Redrose64 (talk) 22:12, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- According to the Micheldever article, "Micheldever Station" is the name of a village in Micheldever parish. Micheldever Station and Micheldever Railway Station are, therefore, two separate entities. Biscuittin (talk) 15:24, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
- The village of Micheldever Station takes its name from the railway station which it grew up around. It did not exist before the railway. --Redrose64 (talk) 16:05, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
- My own view is that "railway station" articles should confine themselves to information about the railway. I suppose "First automobile journey" is loosely connected to the railway because the car arrived at Micheldever by rail. If you want to move "First automobile journey" back here then I won't revert it. Biscuittin (talk) 08:09, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
- @Biscuittin: There's a discussion at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2014 May 31#Micheldever Station which may affect this. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:47, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
