Fascinating to encounter a centenarian of reknown from that period. Interestingly:
1. He could have been one of the last living people to have spoken with Napoleon and others from that era
2. Jean Calment could have met him (in theory) and thus would have been, in 1997 the last living person to have spoken with someone who had met Napoleon.--Jrm2007 (talk) 20:39, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
...the last living individual born before the French Revolution. I think we should say the last living Frenchman, though even that might not be known for certain. Valetude (talk) 16:39, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It seems the citation for Chevreul's paper on the "magic pendulum", divining rods and table-turning is not complete. It does not flesh out the scope of the paper, and the title is not complete. I wish to suggest that part of Chevreul's vital research be fleshed out properly. If no one objects, I will do it when I have had time to obtain synopsis of his results and the title of his work. His fully translated paper was published in The Skeptical Inquirer Magazine and I have all necessary data for this; it can serve as the citation in the bibliography.76.195.86.155 (talk) 22:00, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
