Requested move 8 September 2018
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: MOVED with further move to Michael Noonan (Fine Gael politician) possible Danski454 (talk) 10:33, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
– The Australian admiral appears to be just as significant as this Irish politician, and there are a number of other Irish politicians, writers and sports people from several countries with this name. pageviews Scott Davis Talk 05:52, 8 September 2018 (UTC)
- Disclosure I have adjusted the templates that linked this page to link to the redirect at the intended title. --Scott Davis Talk 06:02, 8 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. There are ten entries at the Michael Noonan (disambiguation) page — far too many for a political figure who is not a luminary on the international scene to become the dominant WP:PRIMARYTOPIC over the other nine. - Move to Michael Noonan (Fine Gael politician). We don't just use the party for disambiguation purposes for politicians, any more than we use the county, city or state. Those that use this form shouldn't do. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:08, 12 September 2018 (UTC)
- I chose the shorter disambiguator because it matched Michael J. Noonan (Fianna Fáil) before you moved that page, and James Browne (Fianna Fáil). I'm not fussed if the closer decides it needs the extra word to separate him from other Michael Noonans associated with the party but not as politicians. --Scott Davis Talk 11:50, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
- I have boldly moved it to Michael Noonan (Fine Gael politician) post close. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 11:02, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Frayae: I have reverted your bold move. The word politician is superfluous. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 03:27, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
